This is their time, right?
30:13
Yeah, well, look at Tyson Frizzell.
30:16
He's represented Wales, Australia, and he's come back to Tonga.
30:20
And it's all about honoring his grandfather.
30:22
And we saw that with Andrew Fafita in the last World Cup when he declared for Tonga.
30:26
It's about... that these young kids sitting in the suburbs of Sydney and Brisbane and Auckland get somehow to say thank you to their grandparents for the sacrifices they made.
30:39
It's the most beautiful thing.
32:56
And what that means, it seems to me, is that if the heritage rules don't change, P&G could gradually get stronger and stronger because, as they proved just a few weeks ago when the junior cummels beat Australia, their pathways in the early stages seem to be working rather well.
25:09
However, rugby league writer and historian Patrick Skeen, who's followed the Silk Tails progress at close quarters, says now that a multi-country part- partnership deal has been signed, it's time to put differences aside.
25:22
I think a team that starts under its own bat and is getting its own funding is always going to be viewed negatively by a governing body in any sport.
25:32
If the Kaiviti Silk Tails had waited for the Fiji National Rugby League, there may not have even been a team down here.
25:37
But whether they're an Australian team, the Fiji talent is going to have to come and live in Australia, and Silk Tails provide a kind of acclimatization transit lounge to get used to structured NRL football because there's still a lot of instinctive football being played, and NRL is actually quite methodical and structural, and the fitness is incredible.
25:57
So I think to say that it's an Australian team, well, any talent they develop up there must come through the Australian representative pathways.
26:04
So getting them the best talent down in Australia to do that can only help.
26:08
I can't see any negatives, and I didn't hear that the Fiji Rugby League were ever planning to do this type of team.
28:45
If these sorts of things can get off the ground, they could be transformative, couldn't they? Not only in terms of getting players ready for the NRL, but in terms of dramatically improving what's going on at home.
