So maybe they can get some returning players, you know, um, To me, it's a tough situation because Cooch wants to be here, and he says he wants to finish the year here.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
But again, he asked for a trade, so does he actually want to leave this year, or does he want to walk July 1? He deserves the money he deserves.

Cause you guys are, you'll show up to a knife fight in a ditch and you'll just fucking get after
Patrick MaroonGUEST
well one i think uh swiss i think honestly you guys talked to coop how many times on this show and yeah i think what he kind of talks about and what the team needs and you know each guy on the team has kind of an individual role some guys might get moved up you know top six depending on injuries and all that and i think the biggest thing for coop is Everyone has an identity.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
They kind of know like minutes are being played probably in the bottom six, right? But I think it all starts when I first came in stammering those guys.

But how do they know that to be a Lightning player, you gotta be all in, and if you're not gonna partake in any of that, you probably won't fit in, and you won't be around very long?
Patrick MaroonGUEST
You know, when I got there, Stammer, Heddy, McDonagh, um, you know, Kuch, guys that, you know, are leaders and...
Patrick MaroonGUEST
But I think it conducts itself by Coop and, like, bringing a player in and understanding he gives them a role right when they step in that locker room.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
And you feel, you feel a part of that, and I think that's the biggest thing.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
Like, when g- when we traded for guys, we made them feel at home from day one.
Bryan HayesHOST
Like, what, what was it like just hanging out with him maybe after practice, puck's out there, and just watching him dance and do what he does?

Patty, where does, where does that start, like, in the Tampa locker room? Like does that come from Coop or just having good quality players and leaders throughout the dressing room? Like if a guy gets traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning, I, I'm not gonna use you as an example because you already knew this stuff and it's how you conduct yourself, but how do they know that to be a Lightning player, you gotta be all in, and if you're not gonna partake in any of that, you probably won't fit in and you won't be around very long?

What are you making right now of just what teams are spending to go get a guy at this year's deadline?
Patrick MaroonGUEST
Yeah, I mean, talking to Rupert yesterday on the show, it's like, why is it this year so high? Is it because everyone's so kind of close to the playoffs? It's like a unique year where it's like, Everyone was kind of in it until, like, obviously the Rangers have tanked, the Panthers have kind of tanked these last few games, the Devils.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
Again, but good on GMs recognizing that and, like, you know, Kyle Davidson is probably a hero right now.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
Waiting for Colton Perenco's price tag, like, what's that going to be? Like, what's Buffalo going to, you know, what are they going to send back to St.

Mike Yeo didn't really like me, Craig Berube loved me, you know? So it's like those hard-nosed kind of guys, you know? Dean Evason, same guy.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
And look at what happened with Matthew Olivier last year with Dean Evason when he was underneath that bench.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
Like, the way he put him in that role, third line PK, like, he gave him the opportunity, and I think that's what those guys do.
Colby CohenHOST

Yeah, it's been, you know what? I mean, Tynan's a great kid, you know, and Sometimes when kids make that decisions, you know, people can be mad, but truly happy for him, honestly.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
Like, it's an opportunity to go to BU, and he's mature beyond his age, the way he plays the game.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
the way he skates and the way he can skate with the puck and his 50 fifties is 200 foot game is just off the charts.
Patrick MaroonGUEST
Uh, and then for the guys in Muskegon to me, like you said, uh, And it's a great opportunity for these guys to probably get more ice time, power play time, PK time, especially for centers that were probably on the fourth, third line.

And you know, you watched the NHL 10 years ago and not every guy was able to do that.
