Seemed like that line stayed pretty static throughout the week, Patrick, at about 10, 10.5. What did you hear about from late action on this one?
29:17
Right.
29:18
And it was kind of interesting.
29:22
If you got in really early, there was an 11.5 out there for just briefly on Sunday.
29:28
And as you two might expect, sharp bettors ate that up real quick.
29:32
So you were looking at basically 10.5, 10, pretty much all week long.
29:35
There was a little bit of a late shove, at least at BetMGM, who I went back and forth with just before kickoff, where they went back to 11, which is where BetMGM actually opened the number.
32:16
What's the futures market look like right now with the three teams remaining?
28:09
but Tyler Shuck has been bad, hasn't he?
28:10
That's a super fair point.
28:12
I will tell you right now, literally, you know, to the minute, I realize people are gonna consume this a l- little bit later, but, uh, at DraftKings, on the spread, to your point, they're leaning into the Giants a little bit, 62% of spread bets, 58% of spread tickets, and then on the money line, it's basically two-way play, dead even money and a little bit of a lean toward the Giants on tickets.
28:31
So, uh, uh, you know, basically slightly into the Giants in, in both categories there on the money line and, and tickets and money on the, on the spread.
28:39
So yeah, they are, they are liking them a little bit.
28:42
I can sorta see it, but I also feel like that's a game with the Saints' injury situation and, as you noted, who really likes the Giants right now, even though they did, uh, manage to cover last week, uh, against Washington.
28:53
And another...

17 MINS LATER

45:31
Yeah, yeah, yeah
16:28
Which side, uh, were you leaning towards? Which side were you on, and what have you seen so far to, uh, maybe go one way or the other?
16:33
Well, I mean, look, in the, in the reporting I was doing early this morning, Matt, it was, you know, and really what we've been hearing all week, is that Ole Miss was the, was the very public side here.
16:44
And the sharp action, including right there behind you I assume at Circa, was coming in on Florida, taking that game from two and a half to three, to three and a half.
16:52
And then we even just, you know, an hour or so before kickoff saw this go to four.
16:56
So this was definitely, it was a, it was a pros versus joes, and pros were moving the number toward Florida.
17:02
But, uh, the bets kept coming in on, on Ole Miss.
17:05
And a little bit before kickoff I was going back and forth with Seamus McGee.

6 MINS LATER

22:44
What are you seeing on your end?
12:39
Patrick it's good to talk to you sir let's start with some NFL win totals if we could because this is pretty interesting we were actually just talking about the Green Bay Packers and their win total set at nine and a half maybe that's one that sticks out over at BetMGM but what were some of the notable win total action that you saw and heard from BetMGM when it came to those?
12:55
First off, thanks a lot for having me on.
12:57
Definitely appreciate it.
12:58
Let me slide over to my win totals betting odds.
13:02
Just updated this over the last few days at Vegas Insider.
13:07
These are some numbers from BetMGM.
13:10
You mentioned it.

6 MINS LATER

19:11
So maybe it's a market that's got some volatility, but what have you seen so far? What's been some of the reporting around that award market?
14:28
... uh, the Las Vegas Raiders, uh, they are one of the top three over bets, uh, in terms of ticket count at BetMGM.
14:36
Uh, and they were hitting the Raiders at five and a half, and I'm pretty sure the Raiders are up to six and a half at BetMGM now.
14:41
Uh, number one in over bets is the Giants, over seven and a half, and then my Denver Broncos at over nine and a half, uh, which, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm not the eternal pessimist, but I'm also not the super optimist on my Broncos.
14:53
I think it's, uh, there's gonna be some regression to the mean this season and, uh, but hopefully 10 wins is still there.
14:59
Um, and then the top three in over money, uh, the, in order, the Vikings, the Broncos, and the Lions.
15:06
Uh, the Vikings are at, uh, at eight and a half wins, Broncos nine and a half, Lions 10 and a half.
17:46
Mm-hmm.
28:24
That means they're too short and there's value on some other team," the Cubs or one of these other teams that made some moves at the deadline.
28:30
Yeah.
28:30
A, a couple things.
28:31
First off, I talked with Eric Bijou at Caesars Sports and also with Hal Egland at, at BetMGM about World Series futures kinda coming into the trade line and coming out of the trade deadline.
28:42
And I, I'll first say that because of that price, uh, notwithstanding the current losing streak and whether they can actually do this or not, generally speaking, the Dodgers are not necessarily a bad outcome for the books if you're just looking at straight bets.
28:56
Where it becomes a trouble spot, and this is, again, this is from Eric Bijou at Caesars Sports, is, uh, you know, the growing popularity of the futures parlays.
29:05
And the Dodgers, you know, if you've got one leg left and it's on MLB, it's probably on the Dodgers.
33:57
Prediction markets, do people think it's only getting bigger, better, stronger? Do people think eventually it's gonna get backed off? What's, uh, what- what's your take or Susan's? I've heard pe- people make the case, "You know what? Eventually DraftKings and FanDuel might have to merge to fight these off," just general sense here, prediction markets versus these other books.
31:52
Yeah
31:53
... seven to one range pre-tournament, and then as you noted, eight to one afterward.
31:56
Uh, he's their biggest loser.
31:58
A couple of the players that, uh, you men- you mentioned Fitzpatrick.
32:01
That's certainly gonna be good for most books.
32:03
He's been, uh, kind of one of the flavors of the year, along with Cameron Young and, uh, and, and Godderup and so forth.
32:10
So, uh, right now what BetMGM said they're looking for, and this is probably respect, you know, you know, uh, uh, similar at other national sports books, uh, not sure where Herbert's at at this moment, but they were rooting for Herbert, they were rooting for Gerard, and they're rooting for Suber.

13 MINS LATER

45:25
Yeah
24:34
What have you grabbed from behind the counter, Patrick, regarding game five, as well as this series between the Golden Knights and Hurricanes?
24:44
Well, first of all, thanks to you and Matt for having me on.
24:45
I appreciate it.
24:47
Uh-So as far as game five goes, I actually went back and forth a little bit pre-game with, uh, with BetMGM, and because of this incredible spate of goal scoring, 33 goals in four games, what Tristan Davis had to say behind the counter is actually betting on the game itself was pretty even on both the money line and on the, uh, on the puck line, plus one and a half for the Knights, minus one and a half for the, uh, Hurricanes.
25:15
But, uh, they're on the over.
25:17
You know, they, they're, they're figuring just more goals are coming, so they're betting the over at a pretty hot and heavy pace, uh, expecting the, uh, the fireworks to continue for a, for a fifth game.
25:27
So that's what they're hoping to dodge there as far as the game goes.
29:30
Okay.
24:36
Is that a fair statement?
24:38
I think it's fair to say they were certainly a public dog last week.
24:43
Yes.
24:43
Very, very public dog against the Eagles and made everybody's day.
24:48
I took them in game while they were, I should have taken them while they were way down, but I was like, I'm not taking them while they're way down.
24:54
I took them when they were down a touchdown.
24:55
Yeah.

8 MINS LATER

32:32
I don't think the Bears are great, but I can see them like scratching and clawing and losing 24-20 or something.
