And when you look at the results from the runoff, you know, and going back into the summer, what do you think Oklahoma voters told us, you know, I guess last night and looking back into some of the summer elections?
0:54
Well, I mean, I think the key takeaway here is a little bit of a repudiation of the Freedom Caucus aspects.
1:04
I think obviously everyone's talking about the governor's race, which was very, very close.
1:09
I believe it's the closest Republican runoff election we've had in the state.
1:13
uh for for governor but uh i think the uh continuation last night of uh you know support for senator paxton increasing uh pretty dramatically in the state i think that's probably the biggest takeaway that we really see from this uh that and i think you hit on a little bit is how few people are participating now i do think that the the republican runoff election last night exceeded what some people's expectations were but you're still talking about you know, less than 10% of the, you know, Oklahoma residents participating, let alone, it's a larger percentage of voters, but you're talking about a state of 4 million people, you know, less than 10% decided who's likely the next Republican, I mean, the next governor of the state.

What do you think? Are there any like people who are looking through the numbers today are trying to sort this out? Are there like obvious mistakes that you would caution people against looking into the numbers?
16:10
Looking at some local elections is probably something that the campaigns, you know, I always advise people to do.
16:17
But if you look at the turnout in counties like, for example, Ottawa County, Actually, we had 50% more people vote, 58% more people vote in the Republican primary in August than voted in June.
4:02
But in Oklahoma, it still seems pretty important, don't you think?
4:06
No, absolutely.
4:07
His favorable numbers are very strong among Oklahoma Republicans.
4:13
And he's a very, very influential person in politics.
4:18
We saw that in his last election cycle.
4:22
Although it's not absolute.
4:25
And if you look across the country, when he endorses in a gubernatorial contest, not quite as effective as it tends to be in federal offices.
8:27
What's your take on sort of the state of polling in 2026 and how it's being talked about?
