And I just wanna open this space for you to go deeper into those teachings, and perhaps say what's on your heart about what this moment is initiating us into, and what is our task.

Thank you, Lynn, and thank you, um, my new friends at Sand, uh, new friends and old friends, part of this community.

Really honored to be here today, and, uh, just wanted to introduce myself in a formal way to you, but also to, to that which is beyond us that is also, um, watching and listening for us and these inquiries that we're in.

So I'll just say, uh, [speaking Lakota] I get...

Um, I'm telling you about the, my, my mother's clans, my father's mother's clan.

And so we get our clans from our mothers, and, uh, and so that, those clan names are referring to places on the earth, and they're referring to our relationship to those places and the ways in which those places furthered our humanity, sometimes through worlds more than just this one that we know right now.

And so this is an acknowledgement of that long line that I was talking about before.

I've also heard you enter it through the doorway of speaking about sovereignty, sovereignty and consent of how we work with all our relations.

Like, what are you referring you when you use these terms? How is this connected to gender, like as we usually understand it? Or what goes beyond it? So what, what's behind these terms, uh, men's nation and women's nation?

Well, that is jumping right in.

[laughing] Well, one, I'll, I'll just name that I'm, come from Diné Nation.

Uh, people know us as Navajo, and I was also adopted into the Lakota spiritual way of life.

And, um, and my grandparents and parents were taken into, uh, Dutch Christian Reform residential boarding schools.

And so by the time I came along, um, my family was not really, not practicing our cultural ways or speaking our language or involved in our ceremonial life.

Um, and so I've been in a process of, of recovery and retrieval and also stepping in and hearing, um, I guess I'll say in real time, in current time.
