How would you advise some folks to start regulating their nervous systems to better show up in their households?
18:18
Yeah, for sure.
18:19
I mean, I think that there's some big basics that probably a lot of people talk about.
18:24
The big basics that are within your control are things like, are you moving your body daily? Do you have some sort of physical movement that you're doing? It doesn't need to be anything specific training-wise, just something that you enjoy doing and being consistent with.
18:38
And that doesn't need to be an hour and a half of training.
18:40
For me, mine's like a raw dog in 15 minutes, no warmup in my garage that you see behind me.
18:46
I don't have the time to go out and do that.

24 MINS LATER

42:30
if you're busy and you're juggling and trying to navigate keeping up with training work and being present for your family then i encourage you to take one thing off of your plate that could be your nutrition check out nutre meals and get 40 off when you use code modern man try out the meals yourself and let me know what you think
32:27
And so you, you-- tell me about what you're, what you have going on, The Fathers Guild.
32:34
Sure.
32:35
Um, so The Fathers Guild is a passion project of mine that has kinda become a central focus for me.
32:41
It's something that I've yet to really crack the code on how I can make it support my life, but it is something that I, I, I feel very strongly about.
32:50
Um, I became very disenfranchised with social media in general, uh, because I think it does far more harm than it does good.
32:58
I, [chuckles] I think more people are wasting their lives there than improving their lives there.
33:03
Um, but i- I'd be naive to say that people don't get a lot of benefit from it.
38:02
Do you have an example of, of something where you've taken a complex parenting idea and, and made it very simple?
9:03
Instead, I would just love to get a look into the lens in which you saw fatherhood maybe before your kids came into the world and how that influenced those early years and how you were showing up before you had some of the insights you have today.
9:19
Sure.
9:20
Yeah.
9:20
I mean, I had a really great father, um, a very, very, I have, he lives on my property.
9:25
He is still alive and he, he's like probably 200 feet that way.
9:29
But, uh, yeah, he, he was very, very kind and very, uh, open to conversation and, you know, had boundaries and like, I had a good dad.
9:39
Like I'm not, I had a good mom as well.

13 MINS LATER

23:03
And so I'd love to hear your thoughts around like what really does change outcomes for children and where do we start?
2:12
And I want to jump straight into that and just ask, well, yeah, what does that mean? Sure.
2:18
Yeah, I think it's a really large subject.
2:21
The more I unpack it, the more I look at it, the more I think about it.
2:26
It's really small in one component, just understanding anti-fragility and what it is.
2:30
And then it's really big in the sense that it's kind of overarching that we can apply to all of the components of our, this sounds broad, of our existence, you know? But specifically with regards to fatherhood.
2:44
And so anti-fragile fatherhood to me is going to be a talk for starting on my story around kind of how I got to where I am and what I do.
2:53
and then going into this understanding of the word anti-fragility and then using that understanding to then move into applying it to our lives and being better because of it.

But tell us a little bit about what you're offering.
