So tell me, when you made the decision to be a sports writer, particularly soccer sports writer, what were some of the obstacles that you faced?

Yeah, well, the first one is that there are not a lot of jobs for full time soccer writers in this country.

So that I mean, that was really the big one.

And on top of that, we could do like 45 minutes, an hour, two hours, three hours on like how media as an industry is changing.

and how it goes through ebbs and flows of hiring and what kind of jobs they hire for and what kind of jobs they don't hire for and what the state of journalism is these days.

Those were the biggest obstacles before you even get into the fact that I'm a woman or I'm a South Asian woman and there aren't a lot of people like me in this line of work.

There wasn't room for really anybody, let alone me.

Yeah.
