I
8:09
think, Stephen, you're going to, as it normally does in this country anyway, deviate opinion because people's going to argue, like the likes of the blame game and the hole in the wall gang and, you know, give them a head piece and, And everything that goes out there, their audience is aging in the sense that there'll be a lot more older people, so they probably will be staying in to watch that TV and they'll be annoyed that they're going to miss it.
8:31
But the new generation of audience coming through, are they the same? Are they going to be sitting in and watching it? So this is the argument that you're going to have From somebody, from a comedy perspective, I don't like to see anything being cut.
8:42
I'd have preferred them to cut, you know, one of your shows or something.
8:45
Thanks very much.
8:46
I was waiting on that.
8:49
But I'm just saying that in terms of it's going to defy the opinion and people are going to say, no, I want to watch it.
NormanAUDIENCE

view?
14:33
I'm not going to delve into that on you, but just How bad was it for you or what took you there and why do you think it was comedy that got you out of it?
14:47
Basically, I had part of a finger bitten off working as a doorman.
14:50
And at the time, I had a joinery business going.
14:54
I had a few men working for me.
14:55
And, you know, I was doing quite well.
14:58
It was quite successful for a young man in his 20s to have his own business.
15:02
And I'd just got married.

18 MINS LATER

32:54
I
5:59
I'd like to know what you have because what he said on this podcast, I was like, "There's no way you go much further than this."
6:04
Yeah.
6:04
Look, I have stuff that, and it would have ended his career.
6:08
And likewise, there's probably stuff that could have ended mine too, like, but, uh, yeah, Willie would say something, and you would go, "What?" You know, you can't say that.
6:15
Do you know what I...
6:16
Like, cut that out.
6:17
[laughs] Yeah.

1 HR 1 MIN LATER

67:02
[laughs]
4:10
Right.
4:10
And then the acid turns into crystals, goes into your joints.
4:13
Um, so you have to watch what you eat, and you have to watch what you drink.
4:16
And it's insane, because I remember googling gout, and the most googled question in Ireland for gout is, can you still have a drink?
6:49
Oh, yeah.
6:50
I'm, I'm sending the kids down to that.
6:51
And I haven't got down much.
6:53
But the city is buzzing.
28:03
Yeah.
28:04
And, uh, we, uh, pulled up at the pitch, and this was like, this was probably under fucking 12, under 14.
28:12
And next minute, the guy was talking, he says, "Ah, we're waiting on more of the players." I'm like, "Oh no, those are great." And this fucking Nissan Terrano came flying into the car park, and it had like a big rusty wing on it.
28:23
And this kid get out smoking and put his boots on.
28:28
[laughs] And he went...
28:29
And I was like, "What the fuck?" And they're like, "Oh, no, that's fucking such and such this." I mean, as we were waiting on, like [laughs] he turned up in a Nissan Terrano, under 12, smoking a fag and putting, putting his boots on.
28:41
And he was like-

14 MINS LATER

42:50
[laughs]
3:27
It has been
3:27
mentioned, yeah.
3:28
It was, to do me A-levels, my mum put me into an all-girls school.
3:31
I was the first boy to go into that school.
3:33
And...
3:35
It was a badge of honour, I think.
3:36
You know, I was walking about the corridors with a key for my own bathroom because I couldn't even use the male teacher's toilet.
5:07
Naturally enough.
5:20
Paddy, what would you have in your apocalypse bunker?
5:23
A Lidl or an Aldi.
5:25
Excellent.
5:26
Because it has everything.
5:27
And the Lidl up the north is just, we don't have Aldi, but we have Lidl.
5:32
And they've opened one with a bar in it.
5:34
So I'm thinking that's where I'm going because it has all the food and then it has that mad aisle where you can get a chainsaw and a wetsuit.

15 MINS LATER

20:49
I'm assuming, Paddy, do you read books on holidays? Because you've just been away.
5:21
in your apocalypse bunker?
5:23
A Lidl or an Aldi.
5:25
Excellent.
5:26
Because it has everything.
5:27
And the Lidl up the north is just, we don't have Aldi, but we have Lidl.

15 MINS LATER

20:44
say power to you thank you I'm glad it's back books I'm assuming Paddy do you read books on holidays because you've just been away
42:55
[laughs]
42:56
So next minute, down on the ground fighting.
42:57
So I jumped out, and I separated the two of them.
42:59
Your ma's going, "He's a f- he's fucking nuts." And I was going, "Is that your mate with the pie?" And he went, "What pie?" And I went, "The pies gone." He went, "No, that's fuck all to do with it." I says, "Who's that called then?" He says, "Oh, fuck.
43:10
See that kid there, like, God love him.
43:12
I knew he was fucking far and all.
43:14
But, like, he's too far ahead of the posse." And I went, "What?"

12 MINS LATER

55:03
And like, parents are getting involved.
83:40
Can I
83:40
have this? Can I have that? Can I have this? Like we were in town for the St.
83:43
Patrick's Day parade in Belfast and we were walking through and my wife's like, oh, we're going to go in here and look at something on TK Maxx and I was like, fucking big mistake.
83:51
Like we were doing so well with the kids out in the street distracted with all the flags and everybody enjoying themselves and we went to the TK Maxx and it was just like a fucking, can we get this? Can we get this? Can we get this? And you're like, no, I've got my own money.
84:01
I don't give a fuck.
84:02
Do you know what I mean? It's just like the house is coming down.
84:04
Even with their own money? House is coming down with stuff.
CarlHOST
85:54
Yeah.
