So would you say for the first time in your life, something that has plagued you from a young age, which is your weight, would you say that now is the first time in your life you actually have an understanding of it and you have it under control? And I hope I don't insult you when I ask you that question.

Paddy CunninghamGUEST
I think for the first time in my life, I have accepted that this isn't something that I should be feeling has been my fault.

Paddy CunninghamGUEST
And there's going to be quite a strong word, but that almost disgust that I had towards myself because of my weight, that's lifted because we're in a place now where medically we know that obesity is seen and recognized as a chronic disease.

Paddy CunninghamGUEST
And that is something that still, unfortunately, a lot of people in society don't want to accept because it doesn't fit with their narrative of, oh, you're just lazy and you just like eat too much and all this.

Paddy CunninghamGUEST
But the people that matter, thankfully, they are starting to understand it more in terms of, no, actually, there is psychological reasons, there is biological reasons, there is.

Paddy CunninghamGUEST
hormonal reasons, there's so many different factors that feed into obesity that I now am definitely in a place where I feel more in control through the thanks of some of modern health care and medication and treatment, which is being life-changing for me over the last two years in particular but I'm definitely in a place now where I'm a lot more comfortable pushing back on people if they come in with that narrative and a lot more comfortable with being confident that no do you know what I'm doing things to be proud of to try and improve my health improve my wellness It's not just, say, about the medication I'm on, but it's also of the nutrition, the movement, all that kind of stuff, which is stuff I've done for years.
