The purring

is so calming.
20:57
It's so lovely.
20:59
So what I think is really interesting is there used to be a lot of hand wringing around, you know, will video mark a decline of the audio listening experience? Yeah.
21:13
The absolute truth of it, and it's been measured and studied by folks like Tom Webster and many others, is that actually it's all additive.
21:19
And all of these additional surfaces on which podcasting can be enjoyed are really good for the listener and the viewer.
21:30
And if you look at whether it's the rise of YouTube as a discovery mechanism, or even Netflix as another surface where some of the biggest podcasts can drive new audience, Um, not, not to mention the, the Spotify's and the apples of the world.
25:10
What do you wish people spent more time talking about?
23:55
What drew you to that work, and what have you, uh, learned from it, especially about music and the power to heal?
24:03
Well, it's just that, right? Music is an incredible source of strength and, uh, and healing, and it's also really often quite relevant in the lives of young people.
24:12
Sounds of Savings, uh, specifically aims i- its programs and curriculum at, uh, at young people ages 14 to 24And it, it really is on the forefront of understanding how to, how to utilize music to support mental health and, and wellness.
24:30
I have known the founders since they started.
24:33
One of the founders is a dear college friend of mine, so he came to me rather early in the process of forming the organization.
24:41
And his partner, uh, lost a beloved uncle to suicide, and that was sort of the, uh, the genesis of, of the organization, the origin story, if you will.
24:50
But I was so moved by, uh, the mission that I asked to play a role as an advisor early on and then joined the board, um, about a year and a half ago, going on two years ago, and then just recently became board chair.
