I was wondering if you could share with us what connects these priorities and why do they demand attention now?
7:25
So I think these five areas really are where the money, the risk, and congressional demand really come together.
7:34
That's kind of the glue that ties all of these five areas together.
7:39
And in terms of the why now, As we've discussed, the environment is changing fast and advances in emerging technology like AI, the mounting fiscal pressures that the US as a nation faces, as well as shifting national and global security landscape, intensifying cyber threats, they all raise the stakes across all of these areas.
8:09
And Congress now needs timely, objective, fact-based, nonpartisan analysis and information to help them navigate across all of these issues.
8:21
So I'll kind of walk through each one and provide a little insight about kind of why the issue is so critically important at this particular juncture.
8:31
So first, I'll start with fraud, waste, and abuse.

You know, it's really important because given all the work you're doing, I was wondering what makes a GAO recommendation practical, actionable, and how do you continue, as you pointed out, how do you continue the dialogue with agency leaderships, share a measure of progress, help them turn whatever your agency's practical, actionable recommendations are into sustained improvement? Can you give us a sense of that process?
