Thousands of people have been killed, tortured, or forced to leave.

That's when gangs really started to, you know, kick people out their houses, burn people homes.

There was a period every week or so there was, you know, thousands of people leaving their homes because this gang member is attacking their city now, and then the next week it's, [laughs] it's another city.

So that's how it was for the next two, three years, I wanna say, after he got assassinated.

This raises a lot of questions for the Haitian diaspora, who are trying to decide whether to attend the Haiti match or just play it safe and watch them at home.

Some Haitians in the U.S., they're probably not gonna risk it because there was news about ICE being at World Cup games, which sucks because they're there in the U.S. and they're not able to go to a, a soccer game, [laughs] which really breaks my heart.

So not being able to enjoy it properly like other countries, it really sucks, and it makes me think that, you know, why always us?
