and I feel like in a weird way I just I just I mean you know not that you need my opinion but I feel like I just know coffee's going places because I think if it can start in that process then what's going to stop you do you know what I mean like yeah yeah yeah so um so what was the cost of that though because I keep thinking about like being pregnant like the cost of like doing something in that moment like in that moment where you're obviously really pregnant you're you know you're planning for baby to born what was it like that moment and in that season do you see what I mean yeah
5:29
yeah so I suppose you know In the weeks leading up to when we filmed, I was so, you know, I really, obviously I want to, as I say, my baby is my priority, but I had a really difficult pregnancy and I was, you know, I had quite a lot of complications and I was told I was at high risk of delivering early.
5:52
um so in those weeks leading up to the pregnancy I almost became housebound and I really didn't I really didn't I tried to do as much as I could just to make it to that moment and that opportunity and you know um trying to make sure you know my health was okay my baby was okay but also being able to take advantage of that opportunity it was a really it was an anxious time and you know when we got to the studio, it was almost like that sigh of relief.
6:20
And that's why I say, I didn't have time to actually worry or be nervous about the proposition in front of me because I was just too focused on making it to that moment.
6:33
So yeah, that's kind of how I arrived there.
6:37
But the other thing I would say is when we got the call from Dragon's Den, I was about four or five months pregnant at the time And we were kind of pitching to them and they reached out to us and I didn't tell them I was pregnant until they actually confirmed we were going to go on the show.
6:57
And a big part of the reason for that is, you know, you always hear stories about pregnant women who, you know, struggle to raise investment or have questions thrown at them about their pregnancy and their priorities.

So our newsletters, our social media, our blogs and really engaging our community and sharing what's new.

We started building Cubby when my youngest, my oldest, sorry, was eight weeks old.
2:07
In that moment, I actually was struggling to adapt to motherhood and the transition.
2:11
It was such a huge shock to my system.
2:13
Lack of sleep was really real and I found myself, as I say, struggling to adapt to that role.
2:18
And a big part of that was, you know, the identity crisis and shift that people always talk about.
2:23
So, you know, feeling guilty about buying a of coffee and the things I used to do to make myself feel like Olivia a pair of jeans for example all of that contributed to that feeling of um you know of of loss of something while you've also welcomed something um and I felt brands were missing a trick you know the brands I've been so loyal to for so long were nowhere to be found an incredibly emotional and sort of valuable moment for brands um And I thought, you know, you switch on your TV, every advert you see is brands trying to reach parents.
