It's a strange thing and is linked in interesting ways with the emergence of the biosphere that we know today.

Right.

Because, yeah, so this is something that I've been thinking about a lot in my own work.

Because I think I mentioned before that I'm writing this series, this suite of songs for piano and voice that is... basically about, I mean, it's kind of my own, as I mentioned before, like my own sort of poetic interpretation of these impressions that I get when I read about these kinds of things.

But the first thing that I was interested in was this idea of life before there was air that we could possibly breathe.

So this birth of the air that we know, the atmosphere that we know.

And Particularly this great oxidation event, which I'm sure is something that probably draws students in because it's like, if I think about the images from this time period, if I'm understanding correctly, they're very apocalyptic.

So, yeah, you're making me feel a lot better about things.
