... themselves.
10:03
It becomes another way t- for the brain to seek what's wrong with me and how do I fix it, and it almost, especially if you come from, I think, a background of childhood trauma, which I feel like most of us who got this into wellness, essentially we were kinda doing trauma therapy on ourselves in, in the same vein, um, which is why for many reasons it was so helpful for me.
10:22
But, um, I think that there is a piece underneath that, that the, the very unwell, the very chronically ill, you know, traumatized person has this belief that something is wrong, I'm bad.
10:35
And so modern wellness, I think when it spun out all the way in a sense, almost became this vehicle to validate that so that we could constantly search for the next answer, information piece of like, "Oh, I knew it.
10:47
Something's wrong with me.
10:48
I knew it.
10:49
This is the answer outside of myself that I need." And it's such an interesting paradox because on the one hand that was so necessary, that information age of wellness that we just went through.
13:40
But if you don't mind, I would love for anyone who may not know the story of Olivia, I know, I think everyone knows your products and, like, m- people might have found you on Instagram later in life, but can you go back and just share Livvy as a little girl, the childhood, the, the journey that brought you here?
42:17
So share a little bit about what that relationship has looked like for you.
42:24
Sure.
42:24
Yeah, I mean, like so many women that I'm sure who are listening right now, I didn't have an easy relationship with my mom growing up, and with either of my parents really.
42:33
It was pretty chaotic at home.
42:36
And pretty much exactly what I just said in terms of Not, you know, the old me before I re-parented myself, just not having the tools to validate myself, to see my own emotions, to hold them.
42:52
That was my mom in a nutshell.
42:54
She came from a lineage and, like you said, these generational cycles of women specifically who were, whether for religious reas- reasons or societal reasons or whatever form of hierarchy and patriarchy and all of these things, they got a really short end of the stick, and they were not able to be free and express and have feelings and have needs and be full, whole people.

11 MINS LATER

I thought it would feel more exhausting and depleting, and it hasn't, exactly.
