How long would you spend in each city?

Uh, it always varied, bro.

I remember when I went to Cuba, I missed Coachella.

It was last year, and I had the chance to play with this massive artist.

Huge opportunity.

I had a song with them, featured on them, and they're like, "Will you come to Coachella? We're gonna do some dance rehearsals, a whole choreographed thing." And then I was like, "I really wanna go, but I'm in Cuba, and I'm not gonna leave right now." And then basically I just stayed.

I made actually two songs on the album that were recorded in Cuba, and it was insane.

So how long ago did you start this journey of traveling?

What, what do you do to combat-

We're gonna have to cut that out.

The main point I was trying to make was I redefined my version of success, and it was, it was not more followers, more likes, more money, more commas in a bank account.

It was actually I learned my version of success, and this isn't for everyone, but for me, it's freedom, and the freedom to be able to say, "I wanna do this.

I don't wanna do this," or, "Fuck off." And that's really the dream for me.

But with that whole thing, why I brought that up was because I worked with myself as an artist, as a producer, and I tried to separate those two things.

And I thought, "As a producer, how do I get the best out of my artist?" And me being the producer and the artist, I had to kind of treat them as two separate roles.

So I spent time in LA working with all these producers that were the crème de la crème, biggest people who have the records for the biggest, most hits, most diamond records, most number one hits, blah, blah, blah.

And all I did was just soak up game.

I used a notepad and I would write down all their rules, which all rules are meant to be broken, but trying to take all this knowledge.

And I, I worked with maybe six or seven of the top people who did some of the biggest songs of our generation.

that one I was actually the first one I made that actually was made for the album that Actually survived and came out with it.

And I was in Romania.

Around all these brutalist structures.

A lot of this album was made at the beginning.

It was just Eastern Europe.

And I was just going to these random super niche places.

But what do you consider yourself? You're not a pop star?

No.

No, I don't like to put labels on things.

I'm, I'm fluid, you know.

I'm very open-minded, and I like all styles.

So if you look at my catalog, especially my gold platinum stuff for the Oliver Tree project, which is, you know, in comparison, pales in comparison, but, you know, the teams I worked with to write those songs, and I was writing primarily as a songwriter, lyricism, [smacks lips] with the Lady Gaga stuff, with the Drake stuff.

All of that stuff that I did with them, [clears throat] it just doesn't feel the same because it's not truly raw, authentic shit.

I know, but how much money have you been g- Have you been giving away money, or are you just keeping it?

E- e- enough of that guy eating the a- okay.

One of the worst things was the fermented shark in Iceland.

It's like, I guess if you eat the shark, you die basically, but then they, like, have a curation process.

Um, it's six weeks, uh, where it's, it's basically hung for six months I think, and then you can only eat, like, 5 to 10 chews.

Once you get to 15 chews, it's, like, just fully disgusting.

It's, it, they ferment it in some, it's almost like formaldehyde or something so fucking brutal.

... and that's one thing I always admire about him.

I was wondering, Nina, how that is for you because whether it's his baby shower, his wedding, or in the hospital getting ready for the baby to be born, this guy knows how to promote.

And how is that for you, having those moments to have a Prime fucking bottle in the mix?

I saw that.
