So 12 years ago, I met this, uh, amazing Nubian boatman who was speaking on the phone in a language that I didn't know it existed.

So I asked him to write me something in his own language.

He told me that the language, uh, could not be written because it's only spoken.

So I was really intrigued because I didn't know back then that a language could ever exist, uh, without a script.
