So you, honestly, kind of just to go back to where you started collecting stories in your teen years, and obviously it sounds like because you're talking to witnesses like this protagonist from Granite Skies, Were you also kind of doing some light like teenage investigating, like asking questions, poking around?
8:55
Yeah, yeah.
8:56
I would bother my friends nonstop, you know, about the bullshit that they would see.
9:02
And I ended up getting some cool stories.
9:05
I don't remember all the details on this one, but I remember a buddy and I, we were driving like in the woods, you know, in rural Maine.
9:12
And I'm sure we're, you know, getting high or something.
9:14
Sure.

31 MINS LATER

40:21
Like, this isn't stuff that's readily available.

Go to Autodesk, A-U-T-O-D-E-S-K dot com slash small business, S-M-A-L-L-B-U-S-I-N-E-S-S today and see which Autodesk tools can help you take on more work without locking into long-term costs.
17:02
And now back to the show.
17:03
But in that same chapter, though, I ended up interviewing a gentleman.
17:09
And this was something that happened about 10, 12 years prior from me talking to him.
17:15
And the way he came at me, like I had been sent an email from him and he said, and the subject line said kangaroo.
17:23
And that really piqued my interest.
17:25
I'm like kangaroo.

11 MINS LATER

28:54
Yeah.
Reverend RedbeardHOST
9:51
um what did you take away from humanoid encounters going into in the pines
10:01
i know that in my own files i just have a plethora of things and i have an ongoing ufo folder And then I started to have ongoing different folders for like ghosts and creatures and things like that.
10:24
But I don't know, I just wasn't having enough different items in each folder.
10:28
And it was actually becoming cumbersome to like go through the files because I had to keep going in individual folders.
10:33
So I have a dedicated UFO file for main stuff.
10:37
And then I have a dedicated folder for all other weird main stuff.
10:42
And there's probably 800 files in there, you know, within both folders.

5 MINS LATER

Reverend RedbeardHOST
16:08
Would you mind sharing that with the audience?
15:49
It's like, what's going on? So which encounter disturbed you the most? Because The Witness seems so credible and I had absolutely nothing to gain by sharing it.
15:58
There's one story.
15:59
It's very short and sweet and to the point, and it's not this extravagant, crazy thing.
16:05
Because I do have some of those stories too.
16:07
But this is really short, sweet, and to the point.
16:09
It happened in 2009, and it has sat with me And it still swims in my head all the time.
16:15
It's creepy.

22 MINS LATER

38:07
Can you give us just a little teaser of the darker side of me?
speaker_9UNKNOWN
27:55
Selection varies by location.
27:57
And she wanted to see the skunk and raccoon and deer and, you know, whatever else was on their property.
28:04
So they're out there, and there's a man-made pond that's not too far from the house, and there's a fence in front of it.
28:11
And they can see some eye shine.
28:13
There's something drinking water from this man-made pond.
28:18
And they're watching this eye shine 'cause they think it's a deer, but it-- something seems off about it.
28:26
And then it stands up erect.

25 MINS LATER

speaker_10UNKNOWN
53:38
VEJ, the better, kinder ER for pets.
5:19
tell us you know how this all began you had a encounter as a young kid that sounds interesting
5:24
that that was that was truly the catalyst so i'll paint the picture it's um early 80s i'm very young you know i'm four or five years old and i had uh gone to bed my mom put me to bed And I woke up in the middle of the night, a loud noise woke me up.
5:45
And I remember my eyes popping open and kind of like looking around for some sort of reason why this happened.
5:52
And I started to hear light tapping on my window.
5:55
And when I looked over there, uh, I realized it was rain.
5:59
And then I saw the skylight up.
6:01
I was like, Oh, that was probably thunder.

39 MINS LATER

44:37
How about five? That's a
28:10
I know you've had a few different black-eyed kids stories, so.
28:13
Yeah, yeah.
28:14
Uh, trying to run the gamut here.
28:16
Bear with me just a second.
28:17
Um, okay.
28:18
So there's a story that I call the kangaroo, and it's about this gentleman.
28:25
I, I talked to him, jeez, um, 2017 I think, and his, uh, experience happened 10, 12 years before that.

29 MINS LATER

57:38
[laughs]
Reverend RedbeardHOST
21:19
So I'll step aside and let him tell it in his own words.
21:37
Hey, thanks so much for having me on.
21:39
I appreciate it.
21:41
And I'm just going to jump right into it.
21:44
In October of 2021, I was doing some research on haunted trails near my home.
21:52
I was looking for some interesting locations where I could ride my bicycle.
21:57
I found the old narrow gauge trail in Raymond, which involved the murder of a local.
Reverend RedbeardHOST
24:29
Well, that was weird.
2:50
What do, what do you mean by that?
2:52
Yeah, I mean, humanoid encounters for me, anyways, and the way I went about research for my book that was dedicated to humanoid encounters, was anything that was strange or otherworldly, uh, where the encounter was with something that was humanoid in nature.
3:10
Meaning, uh, things that we can recognize as human, but in an uncanny valley sort of way.
3:17
So we're talking head and shoulders and arms and legs.
3:20
It's biped.
3:21
Uh, but it's not quite right.
3:23
Sometimes, uh, those are really interesting-looking alien-type beings, but, uh, I can also play a little fast and loose and use some ghost stories, uh, along with, uh, these humanoid encounters, 'cause a lot of them, you know, do look like people and...
5:50
these sort of weird, like, what the hell? [laughs]
