So can you explain what you're seeing on the ground at the moment?
25:34
Sure, Katie.
25:34
I suppose, look, 2025 was a very good year.
25:38
We had mixed prices, highest 49.5, 50 cent a litre this year.
25:42
And, you know, even from last autumn, I suppose, we took a massive drop and we're looking at 12 cent of a difference and about 36.6 cent of a base price at the moment.
25:52
That's about 12 cent for the first six months of the year.
25:56
and you know if you if you if you calculate that over the average producer 500 000 liters that's 31 000 euros and that's a significant hit and a significant drop in in income down to blue cost production and and dairy farmers are really struggling and i suppose look if you look at a county like hark which has 25 of the output of the dairy that's a massive dairy in county it's a significant hole in the rural economies budget and spending power of farmers out there on the ground so that's where we're coming from and we're asking processors to be aware of the facts that farmers are struggling and to look at it in the wake of these price announcements for June to pass back every last cent that they can find from all their activities and you know that's where we're coming from and that's Katie to be straight about it.
27:04
How serious is that drop?
6:28
Noel, what's your reaction to this or were you even aware of it?
6:32
To tell you the truth, I wasn't aware of it really.
6:34
I'm kind of shocked.
6:39
Well, I suppose it's not national, but it's an airline that is so associated with the national identity in Ireland and has traditional links down the years you would expect anyway.
6:51
And we're not, I suppose, naive to expect that they would solely source their products in Ireland or from the Irish, but you would expect with such a kind of a traditional orientation and ethos that they would certainly be using an Irish dairy product.
7:07
You know, I mean, there are several good, and as the lady said, there are several, several umpteen decent and good quality milk suppliers in Ireland who would be, you know, who would supply it.
7:20
It's not exactly a good story.
7:59
So they are using alternative milk, but as they say, it's due to a temporary shortage and they do intend to revert back after a short-term basis to the Irish supply.
