Does dairy go in there and actually suppress your body's immune system?
34:27
Yeah, I do believe that it does because if you look at some of these conditions that you can get that are inflammatory conditions that seem to be triggered by dairy products.
34:39
Remember, when we're talking about dairy products, we're talking about milk that comes from an animal that isn't in the same species that we are, right? So cows, goats, cows.
34:50
And so those products unfortunately can cause inflammation in the body.
34:58
Having dairy products is something that, first of all, we see that it can trigger things like asthma, EOE, skin conditions like acne, you know, we see some of the eczema.
35:14
So some of these conditions that are actually pretty inflammatory that cause some inflammation in the body.
35:20
And we know that overall that dairy in and of itself is something that, you know, as humans, we are meant to wean off of dairy, off of our mother's milk at a certain age.
39:47
Okay, so in terms of building the immune system, if somebody has an autoimmune disorder, does that change our conversation today at all?

You know, f- generations that live together under the same roof, and those relationships seem to, you know, uh, help these people thrive well, well, well into their golden years.
17:35
Yeah, and, you know, you make such a good point that the blue zones...
17:38
I think that a lot of people in the plant-based community think about the blue zones as these places where not only, you know, we know that people tend to live longer lives and healthier longer lives, you know, centenarians are, are more prevalent in these areas.
17:56
Um, but, you know, I think that a lot of people imagine, well, it's because of the plant-based diet, and that's true.
18:02
You know, um, Dan, when Dan Buettner looked at these areas around the world that he found were these, quote-unquote, "blue zones," uh, what he found were what are the, what are the commonalities between all of these zones? And one of the things was, yes, a plant-predominant diet, and I think a lot of people focus on that part of it, but there are other aspects.
18:20
And it is pretty in line with the lifestyle, what lifestyle medicine teaches on the six pillars.
18:26
And so it in- involves daily movement, and it's not necessarily getting up at 5:00 in the morning and running on the treadmill for an hour.
