work? So I've been hearing the number 47 and 48, and I can't figure out which it is.

Nicki PetrossiGUEST
There was already four states in day six of a trial in federal court happening right now.

Nicki PetrossiGUEST
But basically, the attorneys general for 47 or 48 states came together and accepted a settlement from META that ended that trial that was happening.

So can you give us the coolest notes of that case and then tell us what your immediate reaction was when you learned they were settling?

Nicki PetrossiGUEST
So back in 2023, a bunch of states, I think about there's been reports of 47 or 48.

Nicki PetrossiGUEST
They sued Meta and you and you said the allegations already, but basically for addicting children and failing to.

Sarah AdamsHOST
How does that sit with you with this settlement, right? Can it still be considered meta taking accountability if the lack of admission of wrongdoing isn't there?

I'm guessing though that the people who threaten children online really don't care what laws are getting passed, um, so how do we stop the predators?
N
11:20Nicki PetrossiGUEST
Yeah, the predators flock to platforms like Roblox and Instagram and Snapchat because they, it's a directory of children and teens.
N
11:36Nicki PetrossiGUEST
I mean, on Snapchat, the snaps literally disappear on the front end and the back end, so when law enforcement subpoenas Snapchat, they often, per a lot of reports, don't reply or don't send, uh, send... evidence of these crimes.

There was recently a, a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing and a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to discuss dozens of different online safety bills.

What are your demands? And is it only to Apple or for all of these platforms, all of these companies, I should say?
