What should they do?
14:39
Yeah, so virtually the first paper that Charlotte and I, along with Colf, has put out was this paper providing 10 recommendations specifically to imaging researchers that really would apply to anyone working with large data sets or heavy compute.
14:53
We covered actions from the stages of analysis planning right through until dissemination and community building.
15:01
So I guess maybe the first thing to highlight was that we recommended people pre-register analysis plans before running stuff.
15:08
And by that we mean before you actually hit go on any analysis, commit yourself to a plan of exactly what you're gonna do and why, and think very carefully about the settings you're gonna use.
15:17
I think also in neuroscience research, we're guilty of running analysis and then realizing we've made a mistake and going back and running it again, then adding in a covariate and going back and running it again.
15:28
And it's these unnecessary repetitions of the compute.
