He married during the Second World War, got married in Bodmin in Cornwall.

He was stationed at St. Evel RAF base down there, RAF St. Evel.

And... that marriage was fine to start with but then due to some clerical error his military allowance for the wife was being sent to his mother, which left his new bride, who was by that time had a child.

They had a son, my elder half-brother Gilbert, sadly no more.

So was it a trial to see if they could get back together again?
