Like so much that happens behind the scenes that is have to be okay with trying stuff and failing first of all, and, and using your voice and really understanding where your voice is and what you truly are and who you truly are.
30:16
Yeah, I think that's a great, great point what you're talking about.
30:20
And I think you just look back.
30:23
We have a core offensive identity, right? We have things that we systematically do that fit our players.
30:30
When I got here as the offensive coordinator, certainly philosophically brought with me a philosophy that I wanted to instill here.
30:38
core concepts in the run and the pass game, a way that we're going to deploy our protection systems, et cetera.
30:45
But what we also did was there was some same as between the previous system and what we were doing in LA and some of the things that I had background with in New England, of course.
34:55
But yeah, when we talk about like evolving this offense forward, what does that mean to you? What does that actually mean? Versus, you know, us on the outside, we can write it all we want, right? But what is it actually happening in that process? I
11:04
Yeah
11:04
... all the way through, through becoming a, you know, a, a full-time coach, a position coach at the college level prior to going to the Patriots, prior to getting an opportunity to, to get hired by Coach Belichick and the Patriots.
11:15
And I'll never forget, um, [laughs] I interview in 20, uh, it was spring of 2015, I was out recruiting.
11:23
And I got a call to see, you know, if I would want to come up and interview for a possible quality control job.
11:29
They called it coaching assistant at the time, and I said, "Absolutely." So long story short, I get an opportunity to go up there.
11:34
I interview installing quarters coverage, uh, defensive back centric, going through really a car wash of an interview from 7:30, 7:45 AM till roughly about 4:30, uh, PM when my, when my flight was scheduled to leave.
11:48
They fly me back to St. Petersburg, Florida, 'cause I was out with spring recruiting, and when I came back, they called the next day to offer me the job and I flew up.

58:01
Yeah
58:01
...
58:01
he listens.
58:02
He's app- he's highly approachable in the building.
58:05
Um, and he was gonna define exactly what your role was.
58:08
There was not gonna be a gray area from a staff standpoint.
58:11
You knew what your job was.

11 MINS LATER

69:04
How do we get over the hump?
34:17
with Woody and Nick, it's impressive to see the growth, the progress.
34:20
Yeah, proud of those guys.
34:22
I think it takes everybody.
34:24
And those guys, it's a next man up mentality.
34:25
I mean, been really proud.
34:27
I know whoever it's been in there, Woody, Nick, Darre, you had Dwar.
34:34
I mean, those guys have all been in there, British.
36:19
How was that for you? And just can you talk about putting together this game plan for Pittsburgh? Sure.
