What do you think that law firm leaders need to do right now to secure that future?

Yeah.

Yeah, so I think we're at a point of great change for training for lawyers because what we've been able to do up till now is the idea of training by volume.

And that doesn't necessarily produce the greatest lawyers, but it is the most elegant financial solution ever because law firms can charge clients that for the cost of training the lawyers.

That's the reality.

The leverage model.

Yeah.

And where can others find out more about what you're doing as a legal futurist, speaker, motivator, and all the good stuff that you're doing?

There were a bunch of lawyers in the audience, but for audiences walking in cold, what kind of case were you presenting tonight?

[laughs] I mean, there's a couple of gags about lawyers, but actually what the idea is, we are set in a fictional community college, the Wangaratta Community College and Squash Centre, and it's the graduation night and I'm delivering the graduation address.

It's a parody of those very earnest graduation addresses where people say, "Follow your dreams." But I've got a very different view on that.

Most careers are just a series of accidents and coincidences that you make the most of.

And so really the show is for anyone who's looked at their career and thought, "How did I get here?"

When you're in the spotlight, when the room isn't with you, how do you recover?

I was doing a show at a US naval base in Japan, and it was filled with 250 men who'd been drinking since like 3:00 in the afternoon.

So they were very rowdy and no one was laughing at anything that I said.
