Tell us, Nick, where did you grow up? Where did you go to college? When did you decide you wanted to be a doctor? And when did you discover osteopathic medicine?

So born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.

And I consider myself one of the lucky folks that just always knew I wanted to be a doctor.

When I was younger, my mom's a nurse and my dad's a chemical engineer, and he worked on some pharmaceutical development stuff.

And then spinning off of that, nephrology, how did you choose nephrology as specialty? And then how did the fellowship applications go?
