Nap time becomes the most creative possible moment of your day.

But I also felt my son was not very well when he was little, and I had tremendous guilt.

I gave birth to him eight hours after being in the studio.

I was making my fourth record, and I was recording it right until the night before I had him.

I was lying in bed with him.

He was a few hours old, and I was listening to the string session coming through.

Can you explain a little bit about that, about your journey?

[laughs]

Either creatively or business-wise.

And so there's a couple of things, and most of the time I didn't regret that.

Most of those decisions I made were right.

Like, one manager who has, I won't say their name, but they've had a lot of, uh, subsequently, my instinct was right th- 'cause they've been knowingly seen to be a bit of a sleaze and what have you.

So something in me said, "Don't go near this person." But then I also turned down opportunities to work with some massive names, like massive names, because I was scared really and I thought I wouldn't be able to, I don't know, bring my, my A game, you know? And I got to, and I, even when I did work with big names, I would always get a bit choked and a bit scared, and I just realized that my personality is c- uh, creatively quite shy.

I just didn't thrive.
