Avid golfer, been a golfer since early teens, childhood.

Down the golf path, enrolled on to a national diploma in golf studies at Myerscough College.

And I kind of had a big U-turn and decided that I wanted to join the army.

So, yeah, after about three months at Myerscough, I decided that that wasn't for me.

What made you take it seriously? So going back to

What does, uh, Neil Williams say to himself, "Well, what do I do now?"

Well, one of the reasons why I got out is exactly what you just said.

So after the White House, the, my orders got submitted.

Well, Camp David called.

Camp David called and said, "Hey, you still have to interview, but I wanted to see why your name is like, kinda like red flagged with a green check mark to say." So I went up there to Camp David, interviewed, and they said, "We can get you up here right away because you don't have to worry about the cost of living where Camp David is located versus Camp in DC." Waited on the orders.

All this was after 9/11.

So I was in culinary school during 9/11, so you can imagine the, the, the, the pressure of the military at the time was completely different, you know, pretty close to what it is now.

Yeah, you've got a, you've got a route to, to run, and it's yours to run it, yep.

How much money has been raised?

Yeah, so like we said, been going on for 24 years.

I think Rod's has been involved somewhere around that 10-year mark now at this point.

But over those years, we've raised over a half a million dollars going back to Gundersen Medical Foundation and Mayo Health Systems, where they then disperse the funds to families and children affected by type 1 diabetes.

So all that money stays local, too? 100% stays local.

So if they're in their care and they get diagnosed at Gundersen or at Mayo of having pediatric diabetes, they're going to get to take advantage of this fund.

What does this mean to you, Neil, to be a part of it?
