Hi, I'm Navid Faro, an artist based in Melbourne.

I guess this whole project began with a question.

Can you access spaces, specifically in Iran, built environments through new imaging technology and new fabrication methods or contemporary fabrication methods, such as, let's say, 3D printing, CNC machining, 3D scanning, virtual reality and augmented reality at the beginning of the project.

And it was basically just a solution and a fun way to sort of deep dive into my ancestral heritage, my Iranian ancestral heritage, and basically access spaces of interest to me.

Just like EJ, it's very much just me wanting to see these things first and foremost.

And also it's kind of created an entry point too to have, I guess, dialogues with actual people in Iran you share in projects together and that's a great like excuse to have these I guess pen pal relationships in a way one of them is Dariush Yousef Hazadeh who is an archaeologist in Iran and he's part of he's a photographer um you've worked with him to is he did he take photographs that you're able to 3D model off or VR model off
