Now, based on the details I've outlined already, do you think it's pretty easy to argue that this case is not in the national interest?

It's pretty obvious that it's very hard to argue that it is.

There's no way that locking up our farmland for this sort of project is in anyone's interest, apart from a handful of people.

Now, I need to be really clear on a couple of things.

A lot of Australia's agricultural industry runs on foreign investments so most farmers don't have an issue with foreign ownership and farm forestry is a good thing, you know, the right trees, the right place, the right scale.

This just distorts all of that and we have a real issue in Australia if $69 million worth of taxpayers' funds can be handed off to effectively force farmers out of the community and really distort the real estate market, in this case in the northeast of Tasmania, by pumping up the price of ground so that local bidders had no chance.

Now, in simple terms, were there Australian buyers or Australian consortiums that were interested in purchasing this property? Were they in the race? Yes.

Well, it depends who you listen to.

Obviously, you're in uncharted territory now, but y- he, he was willing to upend everything to come and find you, and the only reason he went in that room is 'cause he loves you.

Like that's gotta be horrible, you know? Like it, and, uh, yeah, like, you know, they told me I wouldn't walk then, that I'd have a tough time my entire life, and it's like, "Nah, like get after it, you know.

You, you only got one shot to do it all, so like get after it." And I think that's where like running is, it's been like a, a connection point, you know.

It's something we've both gone into where we can spend time with each other, you know, 'cause life's, life's too short, you know?

And, like, and Percy finally got to have, like, that vision for a moment, and it's really interesting and scary and terrifying.

But this also feels like one of those things that we're, like, gonna touch on it for a second, and then I'm guessing since there's a book five, maybe they make it out of Tartarus.

And now he has to, like, rapidly, like, adjust and figure out where he's aligned, what works for him, I, his own identity.
