Forrest CzarneckiCORRESPONDENT
One part of the weekend that Nate really values is how it allows novice hunters to start hunting without feeling overwhelmed or lost.

Nate MartinezGUEST
We provide this opportunity to novice hunters just because turkeys are kind of a good starting point for, for new hunters.

Nate MartinezGUEST
Uh, something like an elk is, is often intimidating, and, and giant, and hard to get out of the field, and poses a lot of difficulties for newcoming hunters.

Nate MartinezGUEST
Whereas a turkey hunt is a, is a great opportunity to just start, because they're smaller, they're very vocal so it makes it super fun right off of the bat.

Nate MartinezGUEST
And, and really provides that, that early season opportunity in the spring as well to, to kinda kick that cabin fever and, fever and kind of explore the woods early, early in the spring.

Forrest CzarneckiCORRESPONDENT
He's talking about being up close and personal with a wild turkey, which as a reminder, survives by not allowing many up close and personal experiences.

Nate MartinezGUEST
The intimate reaction that, that novice hunters get, and e- I mean, any hunter, a seasoned hunter, myself included, who's harvested, you know, many turkeys in the past, it's, it's hearing that gobble in the, in the dark, in the morning, and, and getting chills down your spine, and seeing people react to, to nature being nature and, and wild critters being wild.

Nate MartinezGUEST
Um, and, you know, having your heart thumping through your chest even when you've done it, you know, a dozen times when a, when a turkey's coming at you and, and you're able to call it in and, and beat it at its own game, if you will.
