They don't get prepared.

When you go to sentencing on the day, they don't send you home afterwards to go and pack up your belongings and say goodbye to your kids.

So if you have children and you're going to sentencing, you need to say goodbye to them on that day before court and make sure that they have somewhere safe to be.

Because otherwise, if you get locked up, those kids are gonna get collected by DCJ-

Um, and Corrie had kept that promise and continued to stay in touch with us in Switzerland.

So I stayed with them and they said, "Why don't you do a bigger trip and freshen your English and come back and do a bit of school here and all that?" So I was, I think I was, like, 15, 16.

There was no, "I'm f-" Uh, w- everything was always, "I'm fine." And I know that they encouraged me to see a child psychologist and all of that in Switzerland, but I just said, "I'm fine.
