I'm a PA with Liver Specialists of Texas and with Houston Methodist Hospital for our transplant program.

And my topic today is on counseling patients on overt hepatic encephalopathy.

So when seeing a patient with cirrhosis, it's so important to ask the right questions and to identify symptoms and physical exam findings that can lead to early diagnosis or potentially even preventing a decompensating event.

So today, our topic is on, in particular, hepatic encephalopathy.

So I believe educating our patients is fundamental to good outcomes.

Sure.

That's human nature.

And as healthcare providers, recognizing that people are different in their likes, their dislikes, their allergies, their culture, and that goes into the food you are realistically going to eat.

So listening to your, to the patients, to our listeners, to know what they actually like is important.

Um, and then being specific.

So rather than saying follow the Mediterranean style diet-
