And, and what were the overriding emotions of, of that? Had you lost a job before? Is this a new experience for you? And how did it make you feel?
10:48
I think truthfully, 12 months later, it's probably something I still process a little bit.
10:52
Um, and, uh, my brain always splits into two parts.
10:56
There's the bit that's like, I was in tech for a number of years.
10:59
I've been in media for a number of years.
11:00
I understand, and especially being, coming from a business journalism background as well, I get the world of work that we are in at the moment, um, the AI transformation, although I was very early in that, um, journey.
11:12
It's understanding.
15:14
So what is your first piece of advice for someone who has just been made redundant?
2:15
So take me through how you've come to now do Work At It, which is your new venture, and congratulations, but why you felt so strongly about actually starting up this whole movement idea.
2:26
Sure, of course.
2:27
So as you say, for background, as you say, the shoe is on the other foot.
2:31
You are asking me the questions.
2:32
And once upon a time for a number of years, it was the other way around as a business reporter overseas, first in Europe and then in Australia at Sky News Business before I moved into the world of tech.
2:45
and joined LinkedIn as a founding news editor here in Sydney and working with that team over the course of seven years, as you say, very much in that professional workplace setting.
2:58
And I think what was fantastic about that work and where I was really able to flourish and grow was the recognition that we are all so much more than just our job titles and just the industries that we work in.
6:57
though the AI and the algorithm is now in charge of how that works.
7:06
oh
7:07
no and i hear what you're saying i do hear what you're saying i also want to point out that Last week we did gold versus Bitcoin.
7:14
I went with Bitcoin and was dramatically humbled when that one day fall did happen.
7:20
So I need to hold my hands up and recognize that.
7:23
However, on this, I am certain that when it comes to the raft of economic data that we've got coming through, when it comes to what November is going to bring.
7:33
And also the fact that Sarah Hunter, love her, have really enjoyed seeing her career growth and her development and her role now at the Reserve Bank.
7:43
The fact that she has been doing so much publicly in terms of really trying to actually communicate what the RBA is looking at and how they're viewing the economy.
