I know, I know very well friends of mine that are doulas that will ... have been doing this work for over 20 years, and for the first half of that they did it for free because they could, because they had a comfortable lifestyle, and they had spare time.

They had a husband that would bankroll them, and they didn't have young children that they needed to pay for childcare for.

And since they started charging, they now believe that they're doing, like, God's work and don't wanna charge for it, just wanna earn enough to cover their expenses.

Or they might say things like, "Well, I only charge 800 pound for my whole package," and that's really just to go to the birth, you know, 'cause I might be at the birth for two, three days.

What about all the other stuff you've done? You know, and that, that really frustrates me because they are, they're my peers and could potentially, would never say it to my face, wouldn't dare, but could potentially be judging me on what I charge 'cause I'm very transparent.
