Just reflect first of all though on this occasion of this historic test match at Lord's.

Um, yeah, I guess before we started we knew, um, it was gonna be a really special few days.

Um, and it has been.

Um, I think we've, we've like felt it at different times as a team.

Um, I've absolutely loved walking through the long room [laughs] and, um, yeah, uh, hopefully we can do that a few more times in the years to come.

Um, and yeah, I guess on the game reflecting, um, we were outplayed in, in all departments really.

Um, we found bits with the bat and f- found bits with the ball, but couldn't quite put it all together and, um, India did extremely well.

But being able to bat to get those big 350, 400 totals, what do you need to do?

[laughs]

I'm feeling emotionally drained.

Um, yeah, it was a big day yesterday and getting up for, um, getting up for the match and, yeah, having missed out three games myself.

Not, not sure how it was gonna go, like, injury-wise and, um, yeah.

The game obviously didn't start off brilliantly for us, and then Heather and I came together and, um, managed to do something really special, so yeah.

It's a song that I had a bit of connection to before my son Theo was born.

I suppose listening to it and trying to relate to it as much as possible in the lyrics.

It's sort of describing what if saying I love you isn't enough and you just, you have to say it through your actions and the way that you are.

would you say if I took those

words away? Music has a great opportunity to engage the crowd, engage the players, but also affect the mood of a game.

What challenges do they pose?

Um, yeah, they've, they've got, uh, I suppose, a very accurate bowling attack.

Um, one, uh, that probably doesn't have the pace that we're, we tend to be used to when we're, you know, playing the sort of, uh, nations that we have done so far in the summer.

Um, so a different challenge with that.

Um, obviously, their captain, Chamari Athapaththu, is, um, a batter that can win the game on her own, uh, for the side.

Um, but that's not to discount lots of their other batters who, who can contribute, um, you know, to, to a winning cause.

So, um, they'll be a great challenge.

Could this potentially be the best moment of your career if you feel that, you know, you get through those group stages and potential of lifting that trophy?

And from a personal point of view, not having those warm-up series going into a T20 World Cup, what's the challenge for you with both these warm-up games and also going into the tournament with only two games under your belt?

Um, yeah, I suppose from a, from a physical perspective, only two games, um, before a big tournament.

But, um, I suppose that was a little bit dictated by the injury, so can't really help that.

Um, I, I feel okay about that.

Um, I've been able to bat for the last two or three weeks, so, um, I sort of feel, you know, I'm not sort of only trying to bat now.

Um, so I've got some good, um, time in the nets before that, so I feel sort of confident in that.

But, you know, there's always going from the nets to a game and, um, I'll try and tell myself not to do everything all at once and just, um, you know, let it happen, uh, during those warm-up games as I will want to perform well for, for the team and, and, um, yeah, for, for myself I suppose.

I guess that also must be quite a nice scenario in going into a World Cup to be put under pressure, which is something you've not always had on home soil in bilateral series before.

[laughs]

Uh, and I've watched, I've watched the first two games as well at, at the ground with the team.

So, um, yeah, not, not being able to help or, um, yeah, do anything on the pitch has been difficult.

No.

Um, he was there, and I, and he was so nice, and I went up to him 'cause I, 'cause of his Man Is Fear documentary and 'cause, 'cause of the songs that I write, like, they keep getting put together in the same spaces online.

So I just went up, and I, I sort of introduced myself.

He was very lovely.

He asked me about the music industry and AI, and I was like, "Oh my God, he's Louis Theroux." Like, he's really actually not-

What a massive occasion.

Yeah, I guess.

Yeah.

That was something that I thought about quite a lot when, uh, taken over, I suppose.

Um, I try to take things in my stride and try not to let it look like it's affecting me on the outside.

So hopefully that's still the case.

Yeah, there is obviously a lot that goes on into leaving your country and preparing for a big tournament like this.
