How that has figured in the whole discussion of both feminism and the relationship between the sexes and power, 'cause it's, it's power as raw as you can possibly get it.

Yeah, I mean, it is, it is ...

You know, the military is, is kind of the ultimate masculinist institution, which is not to say it's entirely occupied by men, but that these social values associated with masculinity are, um, taken to their extreme, um, both in war but also just in terms of military, internal military culture, right? Um, that's why there's such a huge problem with sexual assault in the military.

Um, and you know, in the US we're, there, there's currently, uh, in addition to all of the wars and interventions that the US military is promulgating, um, there's also an internal purge where, um, especially women and African Americans are being fired in great numbers from senior military leadership.

Transgender people have been re- forced to, um, retire or take a, a dishonorable discharge.

So there's an attempt to actually create the military as a white male force, um, where ironically in many militaries around the world the last 30 years or so have seen integration of women, um, some degree of anti-racist training so that people of different racial and cultural backgrounds can fight together.

Um, gay and lesbian people and transgender people had been allowed in.
