I was not interested in religious life, even though I'm from St. Louis, and there are a lot of religious orders present there.

When I was growing up, there were more than 35 Catholic high schools alone, all run by different religious orders, except for one, which was diocesan.

And so there were many religious present around, and my family knew a lot of them.
