Jeremy SharpHOST
How are you thinking about diagnosis at this point in terms of how we actually identify learning disorders or dyslexia specifically?

Nancy MatherGUEST
You know, I mean, if you look historically or you think about learning disabilities, a pattern of strengths and weaknesses approach is the best way to identify learning disabilities because that's really what you're seeing.

Nancy MatherGUEST
They're really good at some things and they're really struggling with other things.

Nancy MatherGUEST
And that pattern is what suggests to you that it's a learning disability, you know.

Nancy MatherGUEST
Some of our kids with dyslexia do have an ability achievement discrepancy, particularly when they have good oral language.

Nancy MatherGUEST
So there's a discrepancy there sometimes, but really a PSW approach is the most relevant in terms of learning disability identification, looking at that.

Nancy MatherGUEST
that pattern and thinking, well, does this profile sort of make sense in terms of a child who's got incredible math skills and really struggling with reading? You know, so that's the best fit just in terms of, you know, diagnosis.
