From the perspective of being with my godchildren, I was kind of in awe, and I really, maybe even in some points, I hate to admit this, that I didn't believe it was gonna work.

Like, I thought there was only one way.

I thought that y- of course, you have to spank a kid.

You have to do that.

And the more and more I watched and learned and saw the way the boys responded and how they shifted their behavior, that's, for me, was that aha moment.

And there was some, there was some resentment and some anger.

What do you feel like it means to love a family that is complex in a way that's healthy? What's that picture for you?
