and also you've spent several seasons in japan playing for the blue sharks how did you adapt to the cultural differences both on and off the field in everyday life

yeah so that yeah it took me at least a year to adapt to um and it was really hard so i've come from a few professional backgrounds you know like this that's how things should be run in new zealand you come into an environment in japan and they just they just um think a bit differently um and do things differently like a lot differently um but i think For me, anyways, to adapt to that, I just had to, you know, just not try to change everything.

You just pick one or two things.

Otherwise, it's just going to do your head in, to be honest.

Because you know yourself that that's not how it should be run.

But at the end of the day, the other people, you know, you've just got to just buy into whatever they've come up with.

Um, yeah, it was, it was, it was a hard, uh, it was hard adapting to it.
