So how important is that to be consistent with that campaign, or is it something that is now being given as a reason for why it didn't work, that Germany's candidacy was announced quite late this time round, but really it doesn't matter that much w- at what time you announce your candidacy?

I think there are several things that are relevant for this.

So first, Germany announces candidacy right after it just had non-permanent seat in the Security Council.

That was three governments ago, so there's a lot of s- that has happened kind of in between.

Um, generally it's not very well looked at at the UN if you announce your candidacy while you're still in the entity that you want to reapply to be a candidate for again.

So this is why it actually came so late, kind of as a contextualizing a bit to, to understand why it actually announced it so late.

The other aspect is that the other two countries, they've obviously announced it way before.
