But that's when, that's when my Niners, they won their first Super Bowl, and I remember my grandmother house where she stayed was near Civic Center area, and back then, that's where they would celebrate, um, the championships, right in Civic Center, downtown San Francisco.
4:27
And as a kid, that's what I knew.
4:29
That's what I saw, and that's what I, that's what I really wanted to be a part of.
4:34
And just, just nei- being a neighborhood kid, playing football in the streets and things like that, I wanted to expand that, and so that put the seed in my head that there's more out there.
4:48
And so from that standpoint, I wanted to play college sports, and so that's what propelled me to, um, go to UC Davis.
4:58
I, I walked on there, um, and I, I, I walked on.
9:07
I'd love for you to cover that.
1:14
So what was life like growing up for you and what kind of environment shaped you early on?
1:24
Yeah, growing up here in the Bay Area, in California, I don't know.
1:32
You just kind of go through life and just trying to figure things out.
1:36
And you often don't know what you don't know, so you just kind of navigate.
1:42
And I went to college and played football.
1:51
And playing sports, playing football is what really taught me about leadership and how to just start navigating myself.
2:02
Because when you're playing sports, so many people... and particularly when you're a captain in sports, your teammates are often relying upon you for guidance and just to kind of model the way.

And, you know, you mentioned inner critique, right? So I'm curious, what do you think are some practical ways people can actually quiet that inner critique and make clearer decisions about
1:14
If you could coach, can you tell the world who you are, what you do, and of course, how you help?
1:18
Absolutely, Michael.
1:20
I'm really privileged to be here, man.
1:23
And swag, most people think of as popping your collar, right? Or swag is products.
1:31
I'm not referencing that.
1:33
And in particular, a swag coach represents self-awareness, why power, aligned action, and grit.
1:45
Swag.

14 MINS LATER

15:43
Is there a way to mitigate that? Maybe starting from a young age or if we are now adults, can we start to do things to kind of cope that into a different direction where we are focused more on our why after we took the pause?
