What are you seeing candidly in these areas with regard to Trump support?

So I think there are two challenges that Republicans have right now.

I think the very first challenge is they have a base that is not enthusiastic about this election.

They are not enthusiastic about Trump.

Now, think about the Trump coalition that powered him to victory, uh, in all seven battleground states in 2024.

A lot of the folks that, that drove the Trump coalition, and especially the folks that had switched from sort of traditional Democratic support, lower income, non-college educated working people, those are the folks, when you think about high gas prices, high utility bills, high grocery bills, are feeling it every single day even worse Uh, than the rest of the population.

And so when gas jumps up to $4 and $5 a gallon, the guy who drives a truck for a living is the one who feels that way more than somebody who's working an office job or doing something else.

The first governor's race I won was Roy Cooper's in 2016.

We won by 10,000 votes, uh-

Can you tell us what you kind of mean when you say you're helping women feel lighter in their life? What does light mean to you?

Yeah.

So this is definitely where all of my work came from, is back in 2017, I actually found my journal from 2017, and had all these pages where I, like, wrote the word light.

And I didn't know at the time what it meant, and I definitely did not know how to achieve it.

Because also in that journal were a lot of, like, habit trackers, and the word discipline kept coming up over and over.

Like, you should just be more disciplined.

Just do this.

That's just a fact.

Uh, having won races by 10,000 votes, having lost races by a few hundred votes, having, you know, you own- You have to understand that there is the meta campaign that is the broader narrative you're trying to create to voters, but then you also have to be nuanced and understand how razor thin success and failure, the difference between success and failure are.

And so you have to do all the little things right.

Uh, you can't avoid errors at that level.

Most unaffiliateds just get sick of the, the polarization, and they don't affiliate.

The, I mean, that's the whole thing.

They don't wanna be part of-

Now, so the woman that was hated the most invites the pastor to come over and have tea with her, and what happened?

Now, what's interesting is th- we train leaders in order to plant churches, that you go into an unreached community, you find the man or woman of peace.

But so many times it's been either the drunk or it's like this woman, the, the hated or most rejected that will accept.

And so this young gal just said, "Things began to change in our house over the next weeks and month." Said, "My mom went from this bitter, angry, biting woman to quiet.

She started cleaning the house.

She started being kind." And she said, "Of course, we were in the same house, so we were hearing the same scripture she was, although she was listening all day while we were out in school or going, you know, doing work in the gardens, whatever.

She was there listening." And she said, "She changed so much that our house became peaceful.

Right.
