Cancer Buzz sat down with clinical pharmacist Morgan Gwynn to discuss the impetus for this innovation.

Morgan GwynnGUEST
Yeah, this really was highlighted during, unfortunately, COVID times where we were trying to limit how long patients had to be here at our cancer center.

Morgan GwynnGUEST
And with this oncolytic virus treatment, the process we had, patients were in the cancer center for up to four hours per day.

Morgan GwynnGUEST
And largely that was due to just the prep time needed for making these oncolytic viruses.

Morgan GwynnGUEST
They're stored in a deep freezer, so they take quite a bit of time to thaw and prep with the pharmacy and be delivered to where the patient receives it.

Morgan GwynnGUEST
So that was kind of the big catalyst for this program was trying to reduce that time and then recognize later on that this was also beneficial for patients to not only on the patient side, but to help free up time to get even more patients in the door.

Could you give us a high-level overview of the program and the outcomes you're seeing?

Morgan GwynnGUEST
Yeah, so our program aimed to reduce the time that patients spent to receive oncolytic viruses.
