This week's Torah portion, Re'eh, is the fourth portion in the fifth and final book of our Torah.

Throughout Deuteronomy, Moses speaks passionately to the Israelites, giving them direction upon direction on how to live their lives and make choices and decisions.

Last Shabbat, Rabbi Buchdahl brilliantly spoke about how Moses charges them, the Israelites, and us to listen, truly listen.

And this week's portion continues with his speech using a different sense, because Moses knows that people learn in different ways.

He begins his words by saying, "Re'eh," which means to see.

He says, "See this day I set before you blessing and curse." It's a verse Moses will later repeat in Deuteronomy, and for good measure, when he does it again in Parashat Nitzavim, Mos- Moses makes it clear that when blessing and curse are set before us, we should always choose blessing.
