What was the moment or series of moments that convinced you your life's work was helping leaders become more emotionally intelligent?

Well, you know, uh, I have been in large corporations, uh, for most of my career, and I have had great leaders, and I have had leaders that were creating very, um, w- we say toxic environments.

So I really felt that we need to have leaders who really understand what it is to be leaders, and I think emotional intelligence embodies that in that those are our human skills.

Those are our skills of really understanding people and building trust and leading with integrity and leading, uh, with critical thought.

And so I, um, you know, I've studied leadership, uh, through my career, uh, going especially into the academic world as well.

And what I felt was this is the time to really bring back out emotional intelligence, and it's ... 'cause, you know, strategies are put together, and there's great strategies out there, but I have seen strategies fail, and it wasn't because the strategy wasn't good.

It was because the leader was not being able to understanding the people around him or her and looking at what they need and to how to bring the people with them.
