And
5:58
the reason I love this life lesson so much is it's about looking at the world as connection, that every single person has someone on the rainbow that they care about, or we're on the rainbow ourselves.
6:13
And so if we bridge that, those communities around the world we have an opportunity to raise the living standard of the whole world and you know there's all sorts of research right that queer people contribute more to their communities than the average person and that's what i talk about so much in this chapter is that you know queer people have been an evolutionary force of contribution for thousands for as long as there have been humans and so taking that research and applying it to our daily lives that yeah queer people the evidence is there queer people are a gift and we're going to look at the queer community as a gift and use that to inspire us to include people and solve these daunting huge challenges of our time So that's my favorite out of them all.
7:06
And maybe I'll jump back to the first life lesson at the beginning of the book, because I think it's most useful for people right now.

7:25
You know, people are bringing their disinformation and misinformation to us.

14:04
Mm.
14:04
We need to say that we need to not just say we're allies, we actually need to be allies through our actions.
14:12
And I love to give the metaphor of a person who gets up and is the first to dance at a party or at a co- or at a concert or a music festival or something like that.
14:22
Now, imagine we all look at that person who's dancing, who's has the audacity to be themselves, doesn't give an F what anyone else thinks, right? It...
14:32
They're, they're the visionary.
14:34
They're the person who's busting that path forward for all of us.
14:38
The ally is the person who gets up beside them to dance with them.
