Lisa TrailHOST
absolutely so what's some of the other areas of your job that people may not know about um and i'm gonna give you kind of a few hints of where i'm going okay so you you do work with the liaisons a whole lot so let's talk about that liaison and what they're doing

Maryam HillGUEST
so that we have i have three pots of liaisons that i work with um so the first part would be our multilingual liaisons which they actually what i call as bridging the gap between our multilingual community and our school community and so they work really hard to advocate for families our families that may have some type of barrier of any sort as far as communicating with our staff and the the teachers the school school-based personnel and so that's one thing that they do I also work with our student and transition liaison, which is a title that's kind of unique to the district in terms of we have just started that initiative probably about four or five years ago, not long since I've been here, where we have a designated person that works with our students and families who are transitioning in housing.

Maryam HillGUEST
and so what that just means is that they're they have reached a plateau where you know things may not be going as they would like for them to have right gone and so for us we work with them to ensure that they are bringing coming to school their full self right they do not have to worry about when they get in our doors um anything outside of that so if that's clothing food school supplies ensuring that they stay at the school that they're in when they start to transition.

Maryam HillGUEST
So that we know that when you're living in situations where you may not have or feel like you have the best opportunity to thrive, that it's really hard to come into the building and focus.

Maryam HillGUEST
So we kind of focus on ensuring that their mental is prepared in order to come to the school day.

Maryam HillGUEST
And those are just our liaisons that work with our schools to ensure that they have the funding that they need to advance academic achievement.
