In terms of the recording process, the writing it with the band, where do they come in?
4:31
Okay, so I work with these guys a lot over here in Brooklyn.
4:35
And so we all went and traipsed over to our other mate who's got a studio in Philadelphia.
4:41
And so we tracked the whole band there.
4:43
I came back and recorded my guitars and my vocals and then went over to see Joel Mulholland.
4:48
who I've known for such a long time and we've worked together before and it's so great.
4:53
So he just turned what we had as a band and just kind of blew it up and put his own guitars on there and then, you know, so just total co-production.
6:45
And in terms of, is there a musical thing or a sound or a thing happening in New York that you would love to see in New Zealand and vice versa when it comes to music?
17:46
So how long have you been living in Brooklyn for?
17:51
Well we've been here for about nearly three years but we did five years in Pennsylvania and three years in Queens before that so yeah it's kind of bounced around a little bit.
18:07
New York is, it's really tough and if you're not surviving, then it's just too hard to stick around and you just need to take a break.
20:42
Is this sort of the start of something with the two of you playing together or did you like it and you're going to leave it or what's happening
20:49
next? I love Dion.
20:52
I mean, he's so incredible live.
20:54
He's actually on tour, I think, over somewhere like France at the moment.
20:58
So he's like a busy guy, like really doing that Europe circuit.
